About Different Skin Types
Not all skins are created equally! There are actually five different basic skin types. Anyone looking into effective skin care should first know where they themselves fall on the spectrum in order to make sure they make the best possible choices for them.
Oily Skin
Oily skin is generally detectable by the way it’s shiny all over. People with oily skin tend to suffer from problems like frequent breakouts and enlarged pores. However, oily skin types are actually less prone to age-related issues such as wrinkles.
Combination Skin
Combination skin is actually the most common of the different skin types. People with combo skin can get oily around their t-zone area, but experience dryness elsewhere on their face. Combination skin generally is the healthiest and boasts the best circulation.
Dry Skin
Skin that always seems to feel tight and itchy, especially after washing, is probably dry skin. Moisturizing, hydration, and exfoliation are all key concerns for people with this skin type.
Sensitive Skin
Sensitive skin tends to be more delicate than the other different skin types. It also tends to be thinner on the whole. Pores are usually small, delicate, and fine. People with sensitive skin frequently experience redness or blotchiness, especially in reaction to different climates, skin products, and other outside stimuli.
Damaged Skin
Damaged skin can become such as a result of poor care, normal aging, or sun damage. Like dry skin or sensitive skin, it can feel tight. It also may be wrinkled, saggy, or otherwise show signs of wear and tear. As with dry skin, it’s important to adequately hydrate damaged skin.
