Supermarket tours
ENT Wellbeing is now carrying out supermarket tours! Tours will be carried out in small groups of up to three people. They provide you with the opportunity to be lead around the aisles by our Accredited Practicing Dietitian Belinda, who will happily share her knowledge with you.
Why attend a supermarket tour?
Supermarket tours are a great opportunity to learn more about a balanced diet and to give you the knowledge and power to make healthy choices.
Many people feel that they are already eating healthy or that they have sufficient knowledge to do so – this, however, if often not the case. Usually there are at least a few little pieces of information that these people are unaware of. Supermarket tours can therefore be beneficial for even the most seasoned shoppers and avid food blog readers.
Many companies are very clever with their marketing – making products appear much better for you than they actually are. A supermarket tour will provide you with the knowledge to determine if a product is fooling you or if it is actually a good, everyday choice. The tour will teach you how to read product labels, what to look for and what to avoid. It will also cover some clever wording that can be misleading, for example, ‘light’ oil. By knowing what to look for on a label, you can greatly decrease your intake of saturated fat, sugar, sodium and energy.
This can be a great opportunity for individuals who are struggling to lose weight or for those who just want to ensure their diet is as healthy as it can be. Often people are surprised by some of the little facts they find out!
