Halloween – Scary Morning Face
Halloween (October 31st) is a lot of fun, even for adults! The American holiday, which has been adopted from the Pagan sabbat Samhain, is thought to be when the veil between the worlds is thinned, the ghouls come out and trick or treating is about! Mexico’s Day of the Dead (October 31st – November 2nd) is iconic for it’s over the top decorations, costumes, make up and festivities to remember those who have passed. We all love to dress up, but not all of us remember to take our Halloween make-up off before going to bed. Could make-up really be damaging your skin, and why is it so important to remove your Halloween make-up before bed?
Why you should take your make up off before bed?
A recent article published on the web, highlighted what happens when you forget to take off your make-up for an entire month (check out the further reading section). The article reported that the test subject’s skin aged by ten years due to dryness and inflammation. These two skin conditions contributed to the visible signs of ageing: enlarged pores, poor skin texture, redness and wrinkles.
As wonderful as your scary Halloween party make-up is, it does not look so great in the morning if you forget to wash it off. Make-up can irritate your skin over time, also it can help environmental irritants stick to your skin and become a breeding ground for bacteria. Leaving your make up on can clog your pores, preventing sebum flow and the natural sloughing off of dead skin cells. It is important to use the best skin care products to remove your make-up before bed to avoid annoying pimples and dull skin.
This is one of my personal favourites. As part of the Dermalogica double cleanse, this is the first step in your skin hygiene routine. Have you ever noticed after cleansing, that you still have makeup or even sunscreen on your skin- particularly around the edges of your face?
The Dermalogica Pre-cleanse is massaged into the skin and washed off, grabbing onto makeup, emulsifying oil and getting rid of extra dirt.
Dermalogica Soothing Eye Makeup Remover
The delicate eye area requires some extra TLC when it comes to make-up removal. The Dermalogica Soothing Eye Makeup Remover is also great around the lips to get rid of lip liner and lip stick, stopping blackheads! Alcohol and oil free, this water soluble gel conditions lashes and soothes the eye area.
