About cosmetic filler injections
Have you heard of cosmetic filler injections for beauty and cosmetics? Filler injections or injectable “fillers” comprise a gel like substance which is naturally found in the skin. In fact, the first “stabilized” fillers have been used in millions of treatments. These treatments has been approved by the FDA and are commonly used for cosmetic injections.
Many clients have found these injections to be safe, effective and very convenient, especially when compared to other procedures. The manufacturing company states that an injection can last up to 18 months in treatment areas, including “laugh lines.” It can take care of moderate to severe wrinkles and folds as well as lip enhancement.
How do filler injections work
The product is made of a clear gel formulation of naturally found substances called nonsulfated glycosaminoglycan. They are free of all animal products. These injections are said to be biocompatible with the human body and are broken down naturally. Fillers are actually classified as a protein and are already present inside the normal human body. The average 70 kg person naturally has around 15 grams of these substances in the body.
The filler is inserted through injections and used to fill in the volume of skin that is losing collagen due to aging. Common treatment areas for cosmetic filler injections include frown lines between the eyes, and depressions alongside the nose and lip lines. Specifically fillers are used for lip enhancement, volume and contouring. They are used to diminish wrinkles and aging lines of the face such as the nasolabial folds – nose to mouth lines, melomental folds – sad mouth corners, “crow’s feet” and forehead wrinkles -frown lines. They may also be used for filling aging-related facial hollows and “orbital troughs” – under and around the eyes, as well as for cheek volume and contouring of the chin, forehead and nose.
Fillers can also be used to revitalize the skin by increasing skin elasticity structure, without the goal of adding volume, for example in the face and hands.
Of course fillers are not a permanent solution. Regular treatments may need to be performed every 6-12 months. There are no side effects but there is an allergic reaction warning for persons who are sensitive to microorganisms known as gram-positive bacteria, as well as patients who are allergic to hospital drugs.
A skin specialist can advise of you the best way to approach treatment for aging and maintaining better skin. Because fillers are is a natural alternative to treatments which block over-active nerve impulses, many doctors are opting for this option.
